Iroquois, Ontario, Canada Zero(!) Miles (2337 Miles Total) Sunny - 82F

A Laker in the locks at Iroquois
If Iroquois has a claim to fame it is that during the 1950's, the entire town was moved several miles to the North to avoid flooding created by the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway system of dams. Old Highway 2 and foundations of houses and buisnesses are still visible beneath the surface of the St. Lawrence. Every few hours, a large ship will pass Iroquois on the Seaway, some of them Lakers built for shipping grain and ore on the Great Lakes and some are even ocean-going vessels transportaing grain and other cargo to Europe and Russia. The locks at Iroquois, which raise and lower ships as they naviagte the river and pass the Iroquois Dam provides a good vantageg point for observing these ships.
After spending several days on the road, it was nice to spend a nice relaxing days and giving the bug a well-deserved washing!
Guess what lurks under here
